Winter is coming, which means it’s time to break out the stronger, darker beers. As such, our next club competition will be Dark Beers. No style restrictions, anything is fair game: Porter, Stout, Belgian, Black IPA, Dark Mild, Dunkelweizen, etc etc. Just make sure it’s on the higher end of the SRM scale (30-ish or higher, but no one’s gonna check). We’re hoping to hold the competition sometime in February 2022, stay tuned to the club email for more info.
There was also talk of a High Gravity competition for later in 2022. Think Double and Triple IPAs, Belgian Tripels and Quads, Imperial Stouts, Barleywines, anything else that packs a punch. Exact parameters are TBD, but expect something like an OG of 1.070 or higher. You might want to get your yeast starter going now…
